CHICAGO (AP) _ Old Republic International Corp. (ORI) on Thursday reported a loss of $40.1 million in its second quarter.

The Chicago-based company said it had a loss of 13 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 69 cents per share.

The insurance underwriter posted revenue of $1.81 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $2.13 billion.
